Panorama - Edzna Ruins Final

Throughout video game history there have been hundreds of titles that belong to the hugely diverse adventure and action-adventure genres. The short list below includes just a few of those that are consistent with the tone and subject matter of this website. Preference has been given to excellent games, in addition to those that were innovative in some way. Although no series has all its games featured here, several have contributed multiple entries. A game some might feel should be included may not be—and vice-versa, which is the inevitable result of personal preference. However, it is worth bearing in mind that the list is not final; other entries will be added over time.

As with Escape & Adventure’s literature and film selections, the games are ordered chronologically, making it easy to chart their evolution and advancement over the years. This also highlights the inspiration some games provided for others. By clicking on any of the cover image links below, one will be taken to a separate page with an extensive and detailed retrospective of each game. If you get the chance, escape into them and enjoy some of the grandest digital adventures ever created.
